On Friday night, some wonderfully talented musicians (and wonderful people, too!) came over my house to drink beer and work on some of my songs. I didn't really know how it was going to work - I'd never really collaborated with other musicians before - but it couldn't have gone any better. These are truly incredible folks. Their musical intuitions are spot on and really add so, so much to my songs. I am SO LUCKY to be working with them. In the video we have John Nolan, Kait Berreckman, Meg Smallidge and Kirsten Lamb. Several other musician friends are also going to be helping with the project, too -- friends from open mics, Passim School of Music classes, Oberlin, etc. I'm so grateful!
The videos are rough sketches of what these songs will be like once this whole recording thing happens (hopefully by the end of the year.) Hope you like them. Feel free to leave feedback - musical constructive criticism more than welcome - this is a work in progress.

Welcome!
Welcome to The Cartographer's Wife - a blog about the process of making my first EP (of the same name) and the trials and tribulations of being a 100% DIY musician today.
I have some fabulous musicians headed over my house on Saturday night to rehearse some of my tracks for the first time! More posts (and hopefully video) coming soon. Enjoy!
